We cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Walker and the entire team at Veterinary Surgical Specialists in Tustin, CA. On Sunday, September 28th, our Maltipoo, Max, was in a life-threatening situation—a stone was completely blocking his urethra, and he was unable to urinate. The moment we called VSS at noon, they sprang into action. They understood the gravity of the emergency and streamlined the entire process. By 7:00 PM the same day, Max was already in surgery. This incredible speed and responsiveness saved his life. Dr. Walker is an exceptional surgeon, and his staff is equally amazing—professional, compassionate, and highly communicative. They provided continuous updates and eased our anxiety during the most stressful time. If you are ever facing a critical situation that requires specialist care, do not hesitate to trust your beloved pet to Veterinary Surgical Specialists. Thank you, Dr. Walker, for giving us back our happy, healthy Max!

Dr Craig is incredible. She has done both back leg TPLO surgeries on my Chocolate Lab. Just an incredible amount of experience. There is nothing she hasn't seen before in that regard. Staff is always courteous. Normal wait times. We had to take our Chocolate back after yet another leg injury chasing a squirrel. She assessed it, and thankfully this time we are going to walk it off. Which shows to me that they aren't just in it for money. They want their patients happy. Will would recommend to anyone who needs a serious level of care.

Dr Sebestyen is an outstanding surgeon. He surgically repaired our springer spaniel's rt anterior cruciate ligament two weeks ago. Her post op course has been great. She does need to be watched closely so that she doesn't exert herself but she has not been limping or showing any sign of pain. Eight years ago when she was only one year old he operated on both front shoulders with an excellent result. We have had two other dogs over the past fifteen years that Dr S. has operated on with similar excellent results. I highly recommend him. Photo shows her bandage rt leg a few days postop.

My dog had adrenal gland surgery to remove a tumor found on one of his adrenal glands. Dr. Sebestyen was beyond amazing. He did laparoscopic surgery and removed the tumor with clear margins. So thankful for that as it was cancer. He discussed various options to me and answered so many questions before the surgery. He is an excellent surgeon and my pup was lucky to have him do his surgery.

Dr sebastian is awesome. Checked out my boy dogs perineal hernia and didn't recommend surgery. Went back a 2nd time just to make sure. Didn't even have to pay the 2nd time and he is still good no surgery. The staff is friendly and caring. Cannot recommend them enough. Thank you staff and Dr sebastian!

My Pug received excellent care at veterinary surgical specialist! The doctor and staff were compassionate and empathetic. I was very concerned because my Pug is 14 years old. Everyone was very communicative and responsive. After surgery you have the opportunity to check in with staff 24/7 which adds a lot of peace and comfort knowing your pet is recovering well. I was extremely happy with everyone. Such a wonderful place!

Dr. Sebestyen and the staff were very friendly and professional. I did not feel rushed and all my questions and concerns were answered prior to my dog having surgery Gabby and the tech that gave me Bizzy's discharge instructions and she also removed Bizzy's stitches My dog's surgery went very well along with the follow-ups so far. They accommodated me on my appointment times because I live in LA county

My dog had a cancerous lump, mast cell tumor, removed. One year later, the cancer has not come back nor has it spread anywhere else. I had the same procedure done at a primary vet and within a few weeks, a new lump grew. Don't take your dog to have cancer removed at a primary vet. They are not skilled or trained to do it correctly and can make it worse. That's what my research and experience found. We had Dr. Cambridge. He's no seller, or else I would have agreed to the surgery sooner, but who cares, the cancer did not come back. The care they provide for my dog was top notch. My only complaint is the dog run is made out of wood chips, which a piece did get stuck into the foot of my dog and I did not find it until a week later. You would think that the amount of money that I paid for surgery, including everyone else, that they could invest more into a grass dog run.
